Get a burst of writing energy from three of my favorite posts

One of my favorite things about writing this blog is how much I learn from it. As the year winds down, I thought I’d share several posts that were particularly energizing.

I discovered an interview online that led me to write, Improve your writing craft with this assignment from author Ray Bradbury. I’ve amped up my reading practice due to his advice.

Once you have a draft, it’s time to revise. While there are many strategies and approaches, you’ll find in Revise by retyping your manuscript a way to really look at your story in a big way.

Ask these 11 questions to find your memoir’s meaning made me think more deeply about how to start and build a piece of writing. These questions work for any kind of writing — poetry, essays, short stories and fiction.
